Julia
I met Julia online, completely accidentally. You know those Facebook algorithms - it's they who decide which posts you will see and which ones will pass by never even noticed. Well, in this case they did the job quite well. We met in person a week later, had one of the longest photo sessions ever, both of us being pregnant, what made the shooting a real fun, especially its outdoors part. Eventually we gave birth 4 days apart, and I got to photograph Julia's baby too, that felt quite amazing. We've scheduled 2 more photo shoots for 2019, and I hope we'll meet even more often in a future, not only for the photos, but for the mommies' walks and talks - after all, Facebook knows how to make people real friends. I"m kidding, it's totally up to us! Good talk :)

Dear friends, I'm announcing another Photo Day Event at Mainau park on lake Constance in Germany. Last spring it was a huge success (please read more on the concept and see some photos here), so I hope it finds its fans this year as well. The idea stays the same, the only difference is that this time I'll only held three sessions a day since I'm with a baby now and need to have some brakes between the shootings to nurse the little one. Feel free to contact me should you decide to book a session and don't forget your passports if you're going either way!
Some of the photographs that we treasure most are those in which our children aren't posed and smiling at the camera, but rather simply having fun and enjoying childhood. Mainau park at lake Constance in Germany is a perfect background for family photography, if you ask me. The tulips really come to life in the sunshine, lifting the color and breathing energy into the scene. And don't forget about the orchids, daffodils, cherry blossoms and so many more... Mainau also features one of the best playgrounds one can find in an hour drive from Zurich, as well as a real castle, butterfly house and a pet zoo - perfect family destination for a leisure sunny day. Entrance fee is EUR 21 for adult, and for kids younger than 12 years it's free. Here is the link to their website - feel free to check it out!
Now, I know that for outdoor photo shoots it really is well worth clearing the diary on a few possible dates, for it's all weather dependable. I am always willing to change plans at short notice when possible, as making the best photos is the most important thing to me! So let's count on the weekend of April 20-21st for now, and if the weather goes really bad we'll figure out what to do quickly. In any case there's no prepay or anything, so you don't loose money in case it rains on the day.
Looking forward to hearing from you and wish you all another fabulous spring season ahead!
Hi everyone and welcome back to my list of memorable photography projects of 2018. In a previous post here you've probably read about two of them - Travel Photography of 2018 and Outdoor Family Photo Days. Hope you've enjoyed the photos and found some inspiration for 2019 :) Here I'm going to tell you about another two projects I've been lucky enough to work on that were close to my heart and brought everyone involved lots of fun, joy and happiness (including horses). Want to know more? Keep reading...
The workdays in December (and January if you ask me) tend to slip through our fingers quickly because of the busy holiday season and different demands and obligations at both work and home. As the end of the year approaches, it is a good opportunity to reflect back on what you have accomplished in both professional and personal lives. It is important to set some time aside to think about how you've developed and grown so that you can end the year right and plan for the new year ahead. I've already shared my story in a previous post here, but it's more like a full year review and I haven't said much about work there. So, I've decided to write another post (it most probably will consist of three parts since there's a lot to write about) featuring my work in a photography field in 2018. I'm going to tell (and show, obviously) you about the most memorable projects I've been working on during the year, because I read somewhere that when thinking back on what you've achieved at work, "it is important to keep track and document your important accomplishments. This information will be helpful during the next performance evaluation time as you discuss your performance and achievements with your supervisor". As if I have one :) But it's a fun thing to do so I'm doing it anyways. Enjoy!
Emma
The more I work as a photographer, the more I get to involve in other people's lives. It's extraordinary, if you think about it. I get to capture greatest events, sincerest smiles, those looks, full of happiness and pure love, and sometimes even the most memorable moments of a lifetime... I can only imagine how great it is to observe all those families and relationships I've captured so far growing and blossoming over the years, and I hope I will get a chance to see it all some day. But even today I do get a glimpse on how a family photography works in perspective, and frankly speaking, there's no better example than this - photographing a newborn baby, who's mother you've captured during pregnancy. There's no greater miracle in Universe than bringing new life to a world - funny thing, but when I was the one giving birth I really didn't think about it. At all. Now I do, and I start to cherish the moments I didn't even pay attention to back in the days.
So, here's Emma - greatest bundle of joy and a little bit of heaven sent down to Earth. I wish her and her wonderful family lots of love and happiness, and I say once again: babies are like little suns that, in a magical way, bring warmth and light into our lives. How cool it is, that I get to enjoy it too... And capture it, obviously :)
With all this hustle and bustle around the Christmas season there's one thing we definitely should not forget - preparing gifts for our loved ones! So, if you have some time on your hands – crafty gifts are always appreciated for the time and effort that’s gone into them. Also, I prefer to buy local to support the small local shops, businesses and community in general. Nice idea would be to make the gift giving season last longer with a subscription to something your loved one will enjoy all year round - a monthly magazine, for example.
And here's what I know for sure: rather than buying physical items which end up cluttering up the house, choose an experience you can enjoy together later on in the year. For example, tickets to see a favorite band, gift vouchers for a spa treatment or a loved restaurant, membership to a charity or historical gardens – all make really thoughtful presents and memories that can be treasured forever.
This holiday season I too have decided to help making your loved ones happy, cherished and pampered a bit, so from now on I'm offering gift certificates that entitle their owners to a photo shoot, be it either a family or a couple, outdoors or studio, event or lifestyle - everything is possible, just ask! All certificates are customized, made with love and care, on request they may either contain a money value or a themed session option, a name of a giver or recipient (or both), and so much more... Available in 4 languages and what I find best is that they have no expiry date, meaning they can be used literally any time! I was asked on several occasions previously if a gift voucher was an option on my web site, and even before I had this offer available I sold 5 of them, so I think it's about time I make it official. After all, I am a small local business entrepreneur who offers an exciting experience resulting in memorable photos, and you might need to buy a descent present these days, so why not?
Christmas shopping can seem like an enormous task sometimes – with the minefield of who to buy for, how much to spend and what to buy. But it shouldn’t be stressful – gift buying, wrapping and giving should be a joy. Don't forget about that and happy shopping, everyone!
Yours, Anna
